The Best Summer Activities!

Canada 150 has garnered a lot of attention over the past year. Many people spent months planning the perfect party, getaway or social outing. Now that the celebrations have ended, you might think all the fun is over—but we’re here to highlight the best summer activities that are still ahead!

The Color Run – August 12
Take some amazing photos that will definitely add some colour to your Instagram feed at this year’s Color Run. Also known as the Happiest 5K on the Planet, this unique race is in its 6th year and continues to grow in popularity. All runners start the race in white and are doused from head to toe in different powered colours every 2 kilometers. After the run, everyone sticks around for the Finish Festival, a dance party with massive colour throws. This is definitely one of those summer activities you don’t want to miss!

The Big Festival – August 18-20
Jamie Oliver (yes, the celebrity chef) is bringing his popular UK festival to Canada for the first time. Although Jamie probably won’t be making an appearance, Canadian chefs Chuck Hughes and Rob Gentile will be showing off their culinary skills to the background music of Ben Harper, The Strumbellas and Weezer. This family-friendly festival will also feature everyone’s favourite childhood singer—Fred Penner and the insanely popular Paw Patrol. The two-hour drive north of the city will definitely be worth it for this unique blend of food and music.

Shakespeare in the Park – Until September 3
Celebrating 35 years in High Park, Shakespeare in the Park is now one of Canada’s longest-running outdoor theatre festivals. Taking in a show under the stars is a summer tradition for many, but if you’ve never had the pleasure, make sure to pencil in a trip to the park to see King Lear and Twelfth Night. A picnic and blanket are a must to truly enjoy the experience!

There’s still a lot of fun ahead of us and we hope you take some time to connect with friends and family and enjoy some summer activities!
